TELLING STORIES AND MAKING SALAD
Written and performed by VENETIA TAYLOR
"I was very much in my tossed era when I met Linda. She had kind of a Sharon Osbourne energy... red hair, wore all black, real motherly vibes..."
In her first full stand-up show, Venetia Taylor is making us (and you) a salad. It'll be ready soon. And while you wait, you'll hear all about Linda - her songwriting, boundary-setting, Sharon Osbourne-like therapist.
It's the story of love at first session - and also the fallout with Linda that was set in motion by Venetia beginning comedy in the first place. Complete with ample audience interaction (with a safe-word). Nervous? Don't be. Just keep repeating... positive, assertive, boundaries...
Telling Stories and Making Salad was developed and performed at Theatre Deli as part of the SHIFT + SPACE Winter 2023 Programme. Inspired by Luisa Omeilan's What Would Beyoncé Do? and the work of James Acaster and Mike Birbiglia, the show was staged to feel like a party from preset to curtain call. The show was designed specifically to be a 'chilled performance', making it accessible to a broader audience.
